Boiler House Audit
The overall efficiency of plants using boiler(s) is highly dependent on their performance. For improving plant efficiency, boiler steam survey is critical to identify the steam losses. Also, one of the most important objectives of boiler house audit is to monitor the status of the safety.
We will provide a detailed report documenting the system as found, and presenting options for optimization and system upgrades to improve performance.
Steam Trap Audit
A Steam Trap is an integral part of a steam system, maintaining the productivity and efficiency of the system.
Our audit includes
- Selection and sizing of steam traps based on application
- Identification of strategic locations in main line trapping
- Proper installation guidelines
We will provide a detailed report documenting the system as found, and presenting options for optimization and system upgrades to improve performance.
Consultation and steam solutions
How strong is your system performance? How did you measure? Steam Solutions offers comprehensive in-plant system audits that benchmark overall performance and explore ways to raise energy utilization, reduce heat loss, and lower costs. The audit covers system design, installation, corrosion, leaks, and more.
We will provide a detailed report documenting the system as found, and presenting options for optimization and system upgrades to improve performance.
Condensate and flash steam management
Condensate is discharged from steam plants and equipment through steam traps from higher to lower pressure. An effective condensate recovery system, collecting the hot condensate from the steam using equipment and returning it to the boiler feed system, can pay for itself in a remarkably short period of time.
In any steam system seeking to maximize efficiency, flash steam will be separated from the condensate and used to supplement any low-pressure heating application. Every kilogram of flash steam used in this way is a kilogram of steam that does not need to be supplied by the boiler. It is also a kilogram of steam not vented to the atmosphere, from where it would otherwise be lost.
Our work covers,
- The layout of condensate return lines
- Sizing of condensate return lines
- Selection and sizing of condensate and flash steam recovery system
Insulation
A proactive insulation-management program is critical to overall steam system thermal-cycle efficiency. Furthermore, because steam systems operate above 100°C and as high as 649°C, the negative effects of uninsulated components can be dramatic and are unacceptable in today’s industrial steam system operation.
Cold lines are insulated to prevent any air leakage into the insulation that can cause condensation of moisture on the pipes. Suction lines are insulated to prevent the loss of capacity or sweating due to heat gain. Heat gain causes extra load to the condenser, hence reducing the overall capacity of the air-conditioning system.
Our work covers
- Steam and condensate line insulation
- Cold line insulation
Pressure and temperature Control Systems
Steam, liquids, and gases usually flow at high pressure to the points of use. At these points, a pressure-reducing valve lowers the pressure for safety and efficiency, and match the pressure requirements of the application. Pressure-reducing valves (PRVs) and temperature regulators help you manage steam, air, and liquid systems safely and efficiently. And they ensure uninterrupted productivity—by maintaining constant pressure or temperature for process control.
Our work covers
- Selection and sizing of pressure reducing vales
- Selection and sizing of temperature control valves
